The novel isn't sadly that long, but it's good enough to leave that feeling of satisfaction you get after completing a well-told story.

The Tokugawa corporation has built a external base, Beyond, big enough to have a city inside of it. Things have changed since then, and he's downgraded to a simple detective in OLA (Old Los Angeles). Jonathan, after an accident where he's drifted away into space, is found more than 20 years after inside his cold-sleep module connected to the suit. The game centers around Jonathan Ingram, and the group of men known as "Policenauts", who were a force with police privileges back when the Outer Space trips were starting to grow. Also, the author is Hideo Kojima, you know what it means. It's a mix between a Visual Novel and a shooter game. This is one of the best games I ever played, and if you didn't you should feel bad. It's apparently getting a remake/re-release early next year. A hentai anime OVA as well as a manga and several novels were later released.
